Welcome to the Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia Build Days!
Are you ready to make a lasting impact in your community? Join us in our mission to provide safe, affordable housing for families in need. Together, we can create a world where everyone has a decent place to call home.
Whether you're a seasoned builder or just eager to lend a hand, there's a place for you here. Let's roll up our sleeves, grab our tools, and build hope, one nail at a time.
Get ready for a fulfilling day of camaraderie, hard work, and the satisfaction of knowing you've helped transform lives. Let's build futures together with Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia!
As you prepare for the day, please ensure you arrive at the build site no later than 8:30 am. Once you get there, kindly check in with the on-site coordinator who will guide you through the day's activities.
Considering the unpredictable weather, it's advisable to dress in layers to stay comfortable throughout the day. Remember, long pants are a must on Habitat build sites for safety reasons.
To ensure a hassle-free experience, we recommend avoiding bringing any unnecessary valuables as there might not be a secure place to store them.
Rest assured, all volunteers will be equipped with the required safety gear upon arrival. If you have your own steel-toed boots or work gloves, feel free to bring them along. However, please refrain from bringing any additional tools.
In case of any last-minute changes to your plans that might prevent you from attending, kindly inform us at volunteer@habitatns.ca. Your communication is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your dedication in helping us "build homes and hope." We are truly grateful for your support and eagerly anticipate working alongside you!
Don't forget to share your experience with us! Tag us on Twitter @HabitatNS, Instagram @habitatnovascotia, or Facebook @Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia, and use the hashtag #NailedIt. Your photos will surely inspire others!
Stay connected with us on social media to catch all the latest updates and photos from your build day. Your involvement means the world to us!

In Support of Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia
Since 1992, Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia has partnered with families in the province to build safe, quality and affordable homes. We offer qualifying families in our program an affordable, no-down-payment mortgage with monthly payments that do not exceed 30 per cent of their monthly incomes. In return, they invest 500 hours in volunteer work, even helping to build their own homes. We also operate the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Dartmouth, a building supply and home renovation store that accepts and resells new and gently-used building materials, furniture and home décor items. The ReStore helps covers Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia’s operating costs. This ensures more of your donor dollars directly supports our mission to build more affordable homes.
