A Message From Josh Vekeman
Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia builds simple, decent,
affordable homes for Nova Scotia families in need. They make home ownership a reality for many who would
otherwise be unable to own their own homes and who need a “hand up” through no-down-payment, no-interest mortgages on homes built by volunteers using donated materials and services.

In Support of Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia
Since 1992, Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia has partnered with families in the province to build safe, quality and affordable homes. We offer qualifying families in our program an affordable, no-down-payment mortgage with monthly payments that do not exceed 30 per cent of their monthly incomes. In return, they invest 500 hours in volunteer work, even helping to build their own homes. We also operate the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Dartmouth, a building supply and home renovation store that accepts and resells new and gently-used building materials, furniture and home décor items. The ReStore helps covers Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia’s operating costs. This ensures more of your donor dollars directly supports our mission to build more affordable homes.
