Thank you for choosing to Adopt-A-Day!

Please arrive at the build side no later than 8:30am. Upon arrival, check in with the on-site coordinator.

Remember to check weather for the day and dress accordingly. We encourage you to dress in layers, something always prudent given fluctuations in weather/temperatures and the uncertainty around the work for the day. Long pants are required on Habitat build sites.

Avoid bringing any unnecessary valuables as there may not be a safe place to store them.

Water, coffee and snacks are available on site all day and lunch will be provided at noon.

All volunteers will be provided with all necessary safety gear upon arrival. If you have your own steel toed boots or work gloves, feel free to bring them. Do not, however, bring any tools.

Should something in your schedule change, preventing you from attending, please let us know. You can reach us via email, buildsite@habitatns.ca or by cell, (902) 403-1381.

Finally, please accept our deepest gratitude for making time for this build day, and for helping us "build homes and build hope." We look forward to working with you!

We’d love to see your photos! Tag us on Twitter @HabitatNS or Instagram @habitat4humanityns and use the hashtag #NailedIt

In Support of Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia
Since 1992, Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia has partnered with families in the province to build safe, quality and affordable homes. We offer qualifying families in our program an affordable, no-down-payment mortgage with monthly payments that do not exceed 30 per cent of their monthly incomes. In return, they invest 500 hours in volunteer work, even helping to build their own homes. We also operate the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Dartmouth, a building supply and home renovation store that accepts and resells new and gently-used building materials, furniture and home décor items. The ReStore helps covers Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia’s operating costs. This ensures more of your donor dollars directly supports our mission to build more affordable homes.
