Hi, I am very excited and proud to be supporting our community through this special fundraiser right in our backyard @ 37/39 Drysdale Road in Halifax - and I have a special request to you ...please support me by pledging our 2018 Women Build. One hundred percent of the funds raised go directly to building homes in Nova Scotia, providing a “hand up, not a hand out” to hard-working, low-income families. This event is part of a global campaign that brings women together in a shared mission to help families build strength, stability and self-reliance. Thank you so much for your support! In Support of Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia
Since 1992, Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia has partnered with families in the province to build safe, quality and affordable homes. We offer qualifying families in our program an affordable, no-down-payment mortgage with monthly payments that do not exceed 30 per cent of their monthly incomes. In return, they invest 500 hours in volunteer work, even helping to build their own homes. We also operate the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Dartmouth, a building supply and home renovation store that accepts and resells new and gently-used building materials, furniture and home décor items. The ReStore helps covers Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia’s operating costs. This ensures more of your donor dollars directly supports our mission to build more affordable homes.
