We are so excited to launch Habitat for Humanity Pictou County!

This newly formed chapter will operate under the guidance of Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia, and as such we are part of a network that helps families in 100 countries around the world, dedicating a new home about every 10 minutes.

Our goal is to promote home ownership as a means of breaking the cycle of poverty. We are a non-profit, community-based organization, and we invite people of all backgrounds to join us to build quality, affordable homes in partnership with volunteers, sponsors, donors and partner families.

We are currently planning activities in our community to help celebrate the launch of Habitat Pictou, and to answer questions you may have about who we are and what we do. Stay tuned for information on upcoming events!

In Support of Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia
Since 1992, Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia has partnered with families in the province to build safe, quality and affordable homes. We offer qualifying families in our program an affordable, no-down-payment mortgage with monthly payments that do not exceed 30 per cent of their monthly incomes. In return, they invest 500 hours in volunteer work, even helping to build their own homes. We also operate the Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Dartmouth, a building supply and home renovation store that accepts and resells new and gently-used building materials, furniture and home décor items. The ReStore helps covers Habitat for Humanity Nova Scotia’s operating costs. This ensures more of your donor dollars directly supports our mission to build more affordable homes.
